Why I Serve

I ran to serve as your State Representative because I believe we need honest leaders we can trust to do the right thing - to serve us with principle and integrity. That is what I have strived to do every day as your State Representative.

As I promised you, I have taken my record of service, leadership, commitment to our community, and our conservative principles to the State Capitol to stand up for you, grow opportunity, and deliver a brighter future. Through our efforts that have grown our economy, improved education, strengthened public safety, kept the state open during the pandemic, and safeguarded our Georgia values by protecting life, stopping the indoctrination of our students, and enhancing our 2nd Amendment right.

I believe we have made Bartow County and Georgia the very best place to raise a family, build a business, or find a job. Most importantly, I have listened to you. I answer every call and email to ensure I am addressing the needs of the folks here at home.

Meet MATTHEW

A life-long resident of Bartow County, Matthew Gambill comes from a family with a long record of service to our community.


He is a graduate of Cartersville High School and holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Lee University.


Matthew currently serves as Business Development Manager for Parrish Construction Group. In this role, Gambill, is responsible for leading Parrish’s industrial and higher education initiatives, driving revenue, maintaining and growing business relationships, and is a key part of the implementation of new business. Since 1995, Parrish Construction Group has established itself as one of the most reputable and technically advanced Construction Managers in the state of Georgia with a focus on education, healthcare and industrial construction. Prior to joining Parrish, he spent 4 years in business development with NFP Corporate Benefits, and prior to that over 14 years building relationships in the public and private sector serving as Executive Director for the Georgia Association for Career & Technical Education. It was during that time he worked with teachers and school systems across the state to support their work in ensuring students are career ready upon graduation.


Active in our community, Matthew is a member of the Board of Directors for the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Board of Directors of the Indian Springs Holiness Camp Meeting, Boys and Girls Clubs of Bartow County, Recovery Bartow, State Workforce Development Board, Truett McConnell University, and is the Past Chair of the Boys and Girls Clubs Georgia Area Council and the Murphy-Harpst Children’s Home.

He is a graduate of the 2007 Leadership Bartow Class, a graduate of the 2010 Leadership Georgia Class, and was selected by Georgia Trend Magazine for their 2012 “40 Under 40” publication. 

Committed to his faith and family, Matthew and his wife Danae are the proud parents of 3 children—Mary Harris, David, and James. The Gambills are members of Tabernacle Baptist Church where they are actively involved.
